I was referred to GetAssist, a private community platform which proudly offers an app without the distraction of ads or the sharing of my data, where I can communicate with my team privately, effectively, and proficiently on an all-encompassing platform. Headquartered in Calgary, GetAssist is a social workspace offering my team a shared calendar, to-do list, and notes including pic/video uploads that can also be downloaded into a PDF! Think of this feature as your virtual assistant! It took a matter of minutes to set up my private setting business team community on GetAssist. You can create a social or business account that can be private to invitees only, or public. When the community account is activated, you are placed in the central "Grapevine." There are 17,000 public communities alongside 4,400 business members you can choose to connect and communicate with based on similar interests or business networking.
However, should you decide you don't want to be involved in the main grapevine, leaving groups is a simple process. The user clicks on the Yellow "unfollow" button...that's it. It is a no-hassle process! I also am very impressed with the GetAssist customer service team. I had questions about my business account. To date, I scheduled four calls based on my schedule, which were quickly met by email confirmations. This feature is so beneficial to the GetAssist community, for it is very challenging to speak or contact customer service teams on other social platforms. GetAssist understands the value of human contact, which builds the relationship between the account user and the GetAssist community. There are many vital features within my business community. As I am the "admin," I have control over the "What's New" feature. This tab is my internal grapevine -- a place where I can lead and create content for the team. The "Bulletin" feature is for all team members. Anyone within the community can add content to this section; it helps keep us up to date on brand endeavors and news. New to GetAssist is the "chat" feature. This feature allows your community to communicate with one another in a private chat with multiple people or just two individuals. You can share pictures, videos and documents within the chat, which certainly further enhances the team experience! When I'm on the go, I rely on the brilliant feature called "Project Logs" (think little black book). It is perfect for my coffee shop meetings! I can pull up the GetAssist app and quickly type up my thoughts. It allows me to take project notes and log pertinent information like name, address, phone, email, start date, and end date information. No more random records stored in my phone or on post-it notes! There is also a shared calendar. This feature is very resourceful for the entire team to post events and add an RSVP feature. The calendar schedule feature is a fast and efficient way to learn who can be involved in our upcoming events and social campaigns. I was glad to learn that GetAssist actively gives back to the community. My favorite quote is, "The more you give, the more you receive, and the more you receive, the more you give." GetAssist actively supports CIWA (Calgary Immigrant Women's Association). CIWA is a non-profit, culturally diverse settlement agency that recognizes, responds to, and focuses on the unique concerns and needs of immigrant and refugee women, girls and their families. To date, GetAssist has been able to help five individuals from the CIWA program. In addition to CIWA, GetAssist supports #BeTheChangeYYZ by heading an annual donation drive for winter coats and accessories. I am very grateful I found GetAssist. No more piecemealing of platforms or apps to obtain what GetAssist offers in ONE place! I can focus on business development now that I have systems in place. Thank you, GetAssist. I can't wait to see what you roll out next. Check it out yourself by visiting www.getassist.com for more information on starting your own social or business community! Author: Jennifer Ettinger
